RsmA(KsgA) dimethylates two adjacent 16S rRNA adenosines. rsmA(ksgA) deletion mutants grow more slowly than an isogenic wt at 20C (Connolly, 2008). RsmA(KsgA) has a novel antimutagenic DNA glycosylase/AP lyase activity for a C that is mispaired with an oxidized T (Zhang-Akiyama, 2008).
