Curator or user-submitted Comments:
MltB is a soluble endolytic transglycosylase and an exolytic transglycosylase that can degrade both non-crosslinked and crosslinked murein chains (Lee, 2013). Slt cleaves the glycosidic bonds between the N-acetylmuramic acid and N-acetylglucosamine residues in murein. Slt has a C-terminal lysozyme-like domain.
