Description:
The ArgT-HisMQP(2) ABC transporter facilitates the uptake of lysine, arginine, ornithine (LAO). It is comprised of the HisM and HisQ permeases, the ArgT periplasmic binding protein and 2 copies of the HisP ATPase. The LAO ABC transporter ArgT-HisMQP(2) was discovered and has been primarily characterized in Salmonella.
Details:
HisMQP(2) is also the permease/ATPase component of the histidine ABC transporter HisJMQP(2), which has been primarily characterized in Salmonella (Higgins, 1981).
