DksA regulates its own repression (Edwards, 2011; Chandrangsu, 2011). High copy dksA suppresses mukB and TS growth and filamentation of a dnaK mutant. dksA is also a multicopy suppressor of dnaJ, grpE and prc. dksA transcription is alkali-inducible. dksA mutations affect chromosomal supercoiling. Binds TrxA (Kumar, 2004). HT_Cmplx24_Cyt: DksA+GreA. dksA and ybiI are paralogs. DksA is required for replication to continue after amino acid stavation by removing transcriptional roadblocks (Tehranchi, 2010).
